At the Drawing Table with Christophe Chang
Originally from France , jewelry designer Christophe Chang began his career with the world renowned Van Cleef and Arpels in Paris . Motivated by a desire to expand his international perspective of the jewelry industry, Christophe began globe trotting in the 1980's. During this period he became a graduate gemologist at The Gemological Institute of America, Santa Monica Campus. Christophe then spent time trading and selling fine gemstones in the Asian marketplace and European Auctions.
With his wanderlust satisfied, in the early 1990's Christophe decided to call the United States home. At this time Christophe became fascinated with the advances in computer technology and the Internet craze, and applied his artistic abilities to both graphic and website design. Further impelled by his curiosity about all things creative, Christophe began researching and became an expert in the unusual old world manufacturing techniques of Pate de Verre or Cast Glass as the Master Jeweler Renee Lalique.
Christophe Chang continues to create, design and manufacture artistic jewelry. His design hallmark is the exotic combination European and Asian cultural inspiration. Christophe's approach to jewelry design is to integrate the artistry of the great jewelry masters of the past with today's modern technology while consistently researching new and improved applications.
Christophe joined Prestige Gems Inc in 2003 and is pleased to bring his talent, knowledge and experience in the world of jewelry design to the drawing table.
